Today was an easy 34 mile ride mostly downhill. We stopped along the way to see William Shatner launched into space. The launch was about 20 miles from us and a bit disappointing, we heard no sonic boom and couldn’t see the rockets flame, only a smoke trail. We ran into the Adventure Cycle America crew on the way into town, they highly recommended Marfa TX over Fort Davis (Fort Davis is the standard ACA route, Marfa has less climbing and is an artsy town). We got into Van Horn by noon and had lunch at a subway and then did some grocery shopping for or 75+ mile ride to Marfa Texas. Our hotel has several electric vehicle charging stations and there were two Rivian pick-ups charging with Blue Origin logos.
All in all an interesting and relaxing day
Those things in my shoe are goat-heads - they do the same to bike tires 🤬
My bike with the GoPro capturing the launch
End of day accumulated miles missing about 30 - technical issues- but meaningless over the trip
The road ahead
Blue Origin trucks charging at our Day’s Inn hotel
More things that can give me a flat tire
