Alpine to Marathon - an easy day

Today we took another easy day, the choice was 30 miles into a light headwind or 85 miles.  We arrived in Marathon before noon and had 2nd breakfast and a great coffee and discussed our options.  We decided to call it a day and get a tent site at the RV park.  The park is nice and a few hours later the Adventure Cycle America folks pulled in.  The campground is only about 1/3 of a mile from town de we walked to town and looked around.  Very small but everything was open and we found The French Grocery which has an interesting selection, reminiscent of some camp stores out west, high end foods, a few camp supplies and good cookies.  We walked back with a few supplies and did some bike maintenance.  Then walked back to town for dinner, we found a BBQ and Brew pub, good food and good beer. Back to camp and getting things settled for night.  The campground has a single shared fireplace that we walked over to and started a fire.  Soon a few people joined and we had great conversations about cars, RVs, camping and retirement.  Then I headed to my tent to check the weather and type this.  Looking a little warmer then our 42 degree start today.
