Rest day panic 😱

Today was a rest day in Silver City, a very cool artsy town with 3 bike shops and good coffee.  It started well with an OK hotel breakfast followed by pastries and a cappuccino, then a tour of the Silver City museum.  I had an appointment to take my bike in for a tuneup at Twin Sisters Cycling at 11am.  I dropped the bike off and had a good lunch with Jim.  On the way back from lunch I stopped at the bike shop. AJ, the owner showed me a few cracks in my rim.  The current wheel was unusable and dangerous.  AJ had a good replacement wheel and spent the time lace it onto my hub.  He also did a tuneup and addressed a few minor issues.  All of this took up much of his work day and he completed after his closing hour.  Over and over I am amazed by the kindness of strangers, best yet a kind stranger who is an expert bike mechanic!

My day may not have been restful, but I met some great people who blessed me.
